 Annina Schmid is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and an Associate Professor in Neuroscience at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at Oxford University in the UK. She obtained her Physiotherapy undergraduate training in Switzerland in 2001 and completed a Master of Manipulative Therapy at Curtin University of Technology in Perth in 2005 and a PhD in Neuroscience at The University of Queensland in Brisbane Australia in 2011. Her research consists of a unique combination of both basic science and clinical studies, which aim to further our understanding of the pathophysiology of entrapment neuropathies with the ultimate aim to improve management of these conditions. Given her background as a Physiotherapist, Annina has a unique ability to translate and explain complex pathophysiology with a focus on its relevance to clinical practice. Annina has published widely in leading clinical and basic science journals (e.g, Manual Therapy, Brain, European Journal of Pain, E-life, Nature Genetics) and has won numerous competitive fellowships, grants and awards. Opettajana Ricky Weissmann, PT, OMT

Ricky Weissmann is a certified physiotherapist since 1992 (state diploma in Physical Therapy, Schaffhausen, Switzerland). Upon his studies, Ricky further specialized in manual trigger point therapy and orthopedic manual therapy (OMT), and has achieved fundamental and practical experience for the treatment of myofascial pain syndromes during the six years that he worked with Dr. Beat Dejung, MD, a pioneer in Manual Trigger Point Therapy in Switzerland. During this time he also had the opportunity to gain experience from David G. Simons, Peter Baldry and Chann Gunn. Thesedays, Ricky treats mainly patients with neuro-musculo-skeletal dysfunctions in his clinic in Bülach, Switzerland (www.physio-neuhof.ch), and since 1993, he regularly trains physical therapists and physicians in Trigger Point Therapy and Dry Needling. In addition, he was the co-founder of the Society for Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy (IMTT) in Switzerland, and has been the head president between 1994 to 2003.Furthermore, together with Christian Gröbli he co-founded the David G. Simons Academy (DGSA) as well as co-founded and acts as the president of the Swiss Dry Needling Association (DVS). Ricky Weissmann has been invited as a guest speaker to conferences and workshops and seminars worldwide. He is the author of several research papers and book chapters as well as co-author of the book “Trigger Point Therapy” and „Myofasziale Schmerzen und Triggerpunkte“.
